burma/myanmar

The cyclone that has ripped through burma has left tens of thousands of people dead and reports of millions being left homeless. It is a horrible natural disaster that is being made so much worse by the military junta in Burma and its refusal to let in foreign aid and help.

Emergency Architects is an international organisation with an australian branch and they have already sent a team to burma. Aavaz (which means "voice" in many Asian, Middle eastern and European languages) is another international organisation which works to ensure that the views and values of the world’s people shape global decisions. Aavaz is running a Burma Cyclone - Stand with the people campaign.

We at bricks + cartwheels think that both these organisations are amazing and urge you all to follow the links to find out more information or help in any way you can.
